With the Fourth of July quickly approaching, the days before and after Independence Day are packed with fabulous events, proving that watching fireworks is not the only way to celebrate! From family friendly activities, to those just for adults, there are plenty of fun ways to spend your days celebrate the Fourth of July. While some are on July 4, others are planned a few days before or a few days after the holiday. Here are some other ways you can celebrate Independence Day in South Florida:

Hooray for the Red, White and Blue USA‘Rita! – Fourth of July Special

Cantina Laredo, 501 Silks Run, Hallandale Beach.

Cantina Laredo is celebrating the Fourth of July with a patriotic USA’Rita. For $4 each, you can enjoy a layered red, white and blue frozen drink, made from Blue Curacao, Espolon Resposado Tequila and strawberry puree. Available from June 30 to July 8.

Weston Fourth of July Hometown Celebration

Weston Town Center, Weston.

The City of Weston’s 2018 Fourth of July Hometown Celebration will feature elected leaders, local businesses, civic groups, schools, bands, organizations and residents gathering to march at Weston’s biggest annual event. The parade begins at Town Center Road.

July 4, 10:30 am to 2 pm

Margate Fourth of July Parade

Northwest Corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7, Margate.

A sea of red, white and blue will parade down the city. Awards will be given for best business, best nonprofit and to a lucky Margate family.

July 4, 9 am to 1130 am.

Parade & Family Fun Day

City Park, 6700 Sunset Strip, Sunrise.

Parade will feature animation-themed floats. Free refreshments and a kids’ zone.

July 4, 9 am to noon.

Davie Flamingo Gardens Old-Fashioned Fourth of July

Flamingo Gardens, 3750 S. Flamingo Road, Davie, FL

Featuring the Borowski art glass exhibit in the gardens, and all of the wonders of botanical gardens and wildlife sanctuary. Watermelon and pie-eating contests, sack races and crafts.

July 4, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Annual Fourth of July Celebration

Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, El Mar Drive and El Prado Drive, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

Join the town of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea for a fun-filled extravaganza for the entire family. A parade will begin at 10 am, followed by music, face painting, a water slide and more.

July 4, 10 am to 3 pm.

Air National Guard: Band of the South: Jazz Quartet

Plantation Historical Museum, 511 North Fig Tree Lane, Plantation.

Don’t miss this performance, just in time to continue celebrating the Fourth of July!

July 7, noon to 1 pm

The United States Navy Band Cruisers 2018 National Tour

Bailey Hall, 3501 Davie Road, Davie.

What better way to celebrate the United States than by watching this performance! Formed in 1999 as a specialty unit of the U.S. Navy Band, the U.S. Navy’s premier contemporary entertainment ensemble takes its name from The Cruiser, the Navy’s multi-missioned ship, and performs a wide range of music.

July 8, 2 pm.
